Mark’s diary

Last night I couldn’t sleep. I watched television until 3 in the morning and then went to bed. Suddenly I heard a terrible noise in the kitchen. But when I went there I saw nothing. Maybe it was a dream, I thought, and I went back to bed. This time I heard someone singing in the kitchen. Again, I got up and slowly walked downstairs, but again there was nothing. Strange, I thought. And I went back to bed.

About an hour later, a scream woke me up. Now I was scared. I listened carefully. The scream came from the kitchen. I did not move. Next, I could hear singing and screaming at the same time. Could it be a ghost?

In the end I decided to go and check. I walked very slowly and carefully. The kitchen was empty. But I could still hear voices.

I walked to the living room and I saw a light there. The voices got louder. But I needed to check. So I went into the living room and… what did I find out?

The TV was still on. There was a Dracula film on, but it was only a film; no Dracula and no ghosts in my house! I turned it off and went back to bed.
